Aggressive Riding Earns Welch Jersey.

Alex Welch (VRC:NOW-MS Society), earned the Most Aggressive Rider jersey on a day that saw a shake up in the GC picture at the Tour of Pennsylvania. Billed as the Tour's hardest stage, it did not disappoint, with a break forming, which included Alex, on the day's first KOM, the 5.5 mile Bald Knob ascent. The break stayed away to the finish and with 3 Km. to go, Welch attacked hard in an effort to take the stage win. Unfortunately he was caught just 100m short of the line, however the move did earn him the coveted "Most Aggressive Rider" jersey. Alex has also moved up to 13th overall, 1:22 behind new race leader Christoff Van Heerden from South Africa.

Battles-Wood Wins in Kentucky, Earns Selection For Europe.

Alex Battles-Wood (Tulsa World/Team Power Train) qualified for the US Development Team that will spend 3 weeks racing in Europe this summer, after winning the Tour of Red River Gorge Omnium event for 15-16 year old racers this weekend. Battles-Wood dominated the event, placing second in the Time Trial and winning both the Criterium and Road Race. While in Europe the Development Team will stay at the USA Cycling Team house in Izegem, Belgium and compete in several one day races as well as the UCI 2.17 ranked Ronde van Oost Vlaanderen, a 3 day stage race in Flanders. Battles-Wood becomes the second TeRuki Training coached athlete to qualify for a trip to Europe after Team Power Train alumni, Alex Welch did so as an Espoir in 2005 and 2006. Congratulations Alex!
